Along with the bleach, I think that the thread was my second worst technique for my project. I had used the technique in a previous project and absolutely loved it, but in this instance, I found that it was ineffective.
At first I just tried to sew on and around the models' face, however both ways did not seem particularly well executed to me. I did not mind the sewing on the top of the face, however, I found that the holes that were created by the needle were unappealing and took away from the thread itself. I think the red thread was too stylised and ineffective.
I then tried ripping up the photograph and sewing it back together, however, I felt as though it again, did not really work effectively and looked a little too haphazard.
I tried a couple of other techniques - the tearing up and sewing back together being a particular favourite of mine from previous projects, and while I didn't mind the one on the right, I didn't really explore this technique any further due to the fact that I felt as though it wasn't very successful.
