While trying to think of other techniques that I could try to explore my project further, I looked at ripping the top layer of the image so that some of it would disappear - creating texture. I did this by laying double sided stick tape on the image and then ripping it off quickly.
While I wouldn't say that this technique was wildly successful, I felt as though it was an interesting style to explore. It gave me the opportunity to ruin the image in quite a raw way without it being too stylised.
I kept testing the technique to see if there was a specific way in which it could be successful, however, I felt as though it was a little bit of a lost cause, due to the fact that it was quite one-dimensional and couldn't really be explored much further. I felt as though the portrait was more successful as it turned up better and you could see more of the rips - something that wasn't as apparent against the white background.
I tried the technique a couple more times on portraits to see if I would like it more, which I did, but sadly I just didn't like the technique enough to take it any further than this.
